- thanks for your comment, Yubria ^^
I think it was on deviantart, you were talking about some of your characters from KoP and their back stories, and then you said something about how you develop your characters, I cant remember what specifically, but it was good advice XD
Yesterday I watched an interesting documentary about a guy who filmed bears in Alaska during the summer. He seriously loved them and understood them, but sadly he got eaten by a bear that was very hungry and bit more aggressive compared to the other bears. Most people interviewed said he was really crazy and stupid for thinking he could become friends with the animals, but judging from the footage he took Id say the bears and other animals around there (these super cute foxes that played with him all the time!!) respected his presence and didnt mind him at all. They seemed either friendly or just ignore his presence. The way the guy talked about them too, I think he understood and recognized that a bear could kill and eat you, he seemed prepared to take that chance. He just also knew that a bear would only do that as a last resort (he filmed the bear that ended up eating him, he did say it was older and more likely to kill then the other bears in order to survive..). I think in the end he probably didnt mind being eaten by a bear, he said several times we would die for bears, and he knew he was in this case just being part of the food chain/helping an old bear survive. I find it sad that they shot the bear afterwards to get out the remains of the guy who was inside :S I have a feeling he probably wouldve been happier if the bear hadnt died...

Hey!! I saw a similar documentary! This Russian gent, Vitaly Nikoalyenko got all up and close with the bears in Kamchatka! He died in 2003 following a bear through the tundra. His mistake might have been trying to have a 'rebound' relationship with the bear that ultimately mauled him after the bear he had photographed for over 20 years died the year previous.

Dobrynya, the bear he had been photographing and filming for so long, had developed such a closeness with Vitaly, that he let Vitaly touch him on occaision. How cool is that?

Sorry, I was checking out your profile and I saw this comment and got excited. I'm not a bear nut, but the documentary was moving and stuck with me and I found an oppurtunity to share my limited knowledge.

Now it's time to read your comics. :)

I heard about that documentary though I didn't watch it because I'm terrified of bears lol, and to hear about how a man was eaten by a bear, GOD NO!!!
It sounds stupid but I have nightmares about bears. They're sayin they're gonna try and introduce them back to Scotland but I really really hope they don't! Beavers I can live with... bears, NOOOO!!!
